Welcome to Transcribe Direct. By using our transcription and copytyping services, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before submitting your project.

1. Services Provided

Transcribe Direct provides professional Transcription (Audio/Video to Text) and Copytyping (Text to Text) services.

  • Hybrid Workflow: You acknowledge that we use a combination of advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) and human editors to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

  • Final Review: While we strive for 99% accuracy, the client is responsible for the final proofreading of all delivered documents before they are used for legal, medical, or official publication purposes.

2. Client Responsibilities

  • Audio Quality: The quality of the final transcript is directly related to the quality of the source audio. We reserve the right to apply additional fees or reject files with excessive background noise, low volume, or unclear speech.

  • Source Material: The client must provide clear instructions regarding formatting, templates, and specific terminology (jargon) before work commences.

3. Pricing & Payment

  • Quotes: All quotes are valid for 7 days.

  • Billing: Services are billed per audio minute or per page/word count, as specified in your quote.

  • Payment Terms: For new clients, a 50% deposit may be required before work begins. Final files will be released upon receipt of the balance payment.

  • Methods: We accept payment via EFT.

4. Delivery & Turnaround Time

  • Estimated delivery times are calculated from the moment the deposit is received and all source files are successfully uploaded.

  • We are not liable for delays caused by technical failures (load shedding, internet outages, or server downtime), but we will communicate any delays to you immediately.

5. Privacy & Data Protection (POPIA)

  • In accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), we act as an Operator of your data.

  • We implement strict security measures to protect your information. Please refer to our Confidentiality Statement for full details on how we handle your data.

6. Intellectual Property

  • Ownership: The client retains full ownership of all source materials and the final delivered transcript/document.

  • Rights: Transcribe Direct claims no rights to the content transcribed or typed.

7. Revisions & Refunds

  • Accuracy Guarantee: If you find a significant error (excluding those caused by poor audio quality), please notify us within 7 business days of delivery. We will correct the error free of charge.

  • Refunds: Due to the service-based nature of our work, refunds are generally not provided once work has commenced.

8. Limitation of Liability

Transcribe Direct shall not be held liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use of our transcripts or typed documents in legal proceedings, business decisions, or publications.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
